Jesus Christ Superstar is without exaggeration one of the most successful musicals of all time. Since the Broadway premiere in 1971, the beloved rock opera by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice has been staged in a variety of productions, both on stage and on the big screen.
The first Swedish production premiered in 1972 in Gothenburg, with Peter Winsnes (The Spotnicks) as Jesus and Agnetha Fältskog (ABBA) as Mary Magdalene. In the summer of 2022, on July 1, 2 & 3, it’s finally time again when Dalhalla hosts a star-studded concert version of Jesus Christ Superstar!
